I presented a paper at the International Women's Conference in Marriot Hotel by The Galleria. Well attended and highly informative with papers presented by women from different works of life.
My paper, Going Home To Make a difference focused mainly on how we should begin to train our children to be street wise, know our culture, our language, their relatives back home, be entrepreneurs not just employees; so that it will be easy for them to return home to Nigeria with us when Nigeria gets better than where we are presently. And that, will be sooner than we think.
Dr Marie Yerima, Corcasian married to a Nigerian Dr spoke passionately about rural women's health.
Dr Mrs. Uzoma Nwanbani, Director, Female Continence and Pelvic Surgery Center, Florida; (an urologist) focused on the aging woman's health and how to deal with it.
Mrs ...... enlightened us on how to start and manage an NGO (None Governmental Organization).
Ms ....... , an engineer with Exxon Mobil Houston, from Quatar in the UAE encouraged us to bravely go ahead and make a difference in our nation citing Wangari Muta Maathai, a Kenyan environmental and political activist as an example.
She also led us into some suprising world of college education in her nation and the abundant opportunities for well paid jobs.
The Guest of Honor, Chief Mrs Bola Doherty, the National Adviser for Peoples Democratic Party of Nigeria represented the Special Guest of Honor, Hajiya Fatima Bamanga Tukur and the National Women's Leader, Dr Mrs Kema Chikwe
